How renting works
The terms, in plain English
Nothing here is buried in a PDF. This is the whole agreement: what a day means, what we hold, what we expect back and what happens if something goes wrong.
A rental day runs 24 hours
The clock starts when the van drops the gear and stops when we collect it the next day at the same hour. Weekend rate covers Friday afternoon through Monday morning as two days, not three.
Deposit is held, not charged
We place an authorisation hold on your card for 30% of the replacement value when the gear is dropped. The hold drops off within two business days of a clean collection.
ID matching the booking
Government photo ID and the card used to pay, in the same name, shown to the driver at the drop. First-time renters over $900 get a short verification call before the van is loaded.
Everything is tested before it ships
Faders cleaned, jog wheels calibrated, drivers swept, firmware current. Each case leaves with a signed test card inside the lid.
Damage and loss
Normal wear is on us. Liquid damage, drops and missing accessories are billed at the parts cost printed on your contract. Certificates of insurance accepted for venue and production bookings.
Changes and cancellations
Reschedule or cancel free up to 48 hours before the delivery date. Inside 48 hours we keep 50%; missed drops are billed in full.
Getting it there
Zones & fees
Fees are per booking, not per case, and cover both the drop and the collection. Curbside means ground level at the address — if there are stairs or a freight elevator to negotiate, tell us in the notes and we will quote the labour.
Free delivery on orders over $750.
Service area
Providing service to the metro area. Have the card and a matching photo ID ready for the driver — budget five minutes for the paperwork on a first rental, none after that.

Questions we get daily
Before you
ask us
Still not covered? We would rather answer a question now than rescue a party later.
- Do I need to be a production company?
- No. Most of our weekend bookings are people throwing one party. If you can show ID matching the card you pay with, you can rent.
- What if I have never used CDJs before?
- Ask when you book and the driver will spend ten minutes at the drop walking you through the deck you rented. It is free and it saves everyone the 11pm phone call.
- How many speakers do I actually need?
- Roughly: two 15-inch tops cover 120 people in a normal room; add a sub if there is dancing; add a second sub if the genre has real low end. Send us the room and we will tell you properly.
- Can I rent for more than a weekend?
- Yes. Rates are per day and the site prices any range you pick. Anything over five days, call us — there is a weekly rate that the site does not show.
- What happens if something breaks mid-event?
- Call the number on your contract. On crewed bookings a tech is already on site. On self-operated bookings we run a swap van until close, and after that we talk you through a workaround.
- Do you take venue and corporate accounts?
- We do, with net-30 terms and a certificate of insurance on file. Mention it in a message and we will send the paperwork.
- Is the gear actually tested?
- Every case leaves with a signed test card inside the lid: faders cleaned, jogs calibrated, drivers swept, firmware current. If the card is missing, tell us and the rental is free.
